Splice The Hedgehog: RPG Fangame.

Thanks, man! I'm already adding nifty secrets you can find with it!

Even with all the things piled up on me today, I still managed to not only fix the way skits work (so that it doesn't screw with the lighting too much) but wrote up two new skits and got a start on one of them!




Seeing how I still only have Splice's portraits, I figured I might as well knock out all the times he's talking to himself before the party comes together.




This one actually has special conditions to trigger it. I won't say how, but it's not hard to figure out.

My motivation's been on the fritz and work is going to kill me this week, but I've gone ahead and fixed up the very first scene in the intro so it isn't sitting on Splice's house for a good 30 seconds before transitioning. I'll show it at another point in time.

Alright status report.

Eggman's Underground Base: Roughly 80% Complete

Mapping layout: 95% (Just need to complete one room, and go back to spruce up whatever's left.)
Puzzles and progression: 100% (The dungeon is beatable; you can go from start to finish.)
Cutscenes: 70%. The main one of importance is the one before the boss, but there are a handful of others I'd like to set up too. Unfortunately I won't be able to get right into that until I've finished some sprites.

Once I finish all that, I'll definitely have to take a step back to work on the Mystic Ruins. But I'm glad I've finally come this far with the first dungeon. It was fun to work on.

Alright, I'm clocking out at 99% on Eggman's Underground Base. All it really needs is a once-over on the aesthetics, and that's something I can come back to at any time. So for now, I deem this place complete.
I really should have been finished this place a while ago. I'm two months behind schedule.




Now I need to figure out how I'm going to handle the Mystic Ruins. I left off at the train station, 'cause I was having trouble getting it down right.

Quick update: Mystic Ruins station is coming along okay-ish.





Still missing some details, and it could probably use some more contrast between the flooring and the walls. But at least it's in working condition now.

Lol. Those portraits are a really nice touch on the game.

Progress has been very slow, thanks to a number of consecutive interruptions over the past couple weeks that totally killed my motivation.

Thanks to Eliwood's hard work, however, I've been able to make another skit.





Fun fact: These questions are addressing the optional scene you can trigger by finding Tab at the Black Rose Orphanage at night time: That plot point was added in by Kapus, not me. Even I don't know the whole story behind it, but I can say for sure that there was more to her investigating the Black Rose than just being suspicious of a criminal organization in the background. Something she doesn't want to talk about...
