Lucy would be fun, but probably unnecessary. There are more than enough characters as it is.

I'd enjoy having her around too.
I've already decided on removing Icicle, and with Hyper out of the way too we've got two less characters to worry about. I don't think I can remove anymore though, but it would be far easier to work Lucy into the plot than Hyper.

Lucy could probably be still in the plot in some way, just not as a party member.

Maybe sidequests or something.

If that's the case then Hyper too. And others who didn't make it to the party, for that matter.

Though, an idea I thought of was that Lucy would actually join you, but not be a playable party member. Essentially just tagging along, appearing in scenes and skits.

Anyone remember when I talked about characters learning skills from eachother?
Well, I don't quite remember how I planned to do that. And seeing how those extra skills won't leave as much room for their own stuff, I'm probably gonna scrap that idea--save for a few.

But I've just now realized that it's actually far easier to learn skills from enemies, than it is from your allies. And seeing how that would be a bit more unique, I decided to give it a shot. Who was my volunteer? Why, the main person who learned first learned skills from others: Violet.
To do this, I gave her a new skill called "Observe Battle". You might recognize this as a possible enemy skill, in which they basically do nothing and watch you. This is essentially what Violet does, although it has much more purpose behind it now. When an enemy uses a certain skill, one that's possible for her to learn, she'll catch onto it and make a comment about it before adding it to her skill list.

However, certain moves must meet certain requirements; such as needing an elemental ring to pull them off. And of course, if the attack is targeted towards her, she has to survive it to be able to learn it.


I've just tested this, and it seems to work just fine! I'm rather excited about this, because it makes Violet a much more interesting character.

By the way, I mentioned that some enemies can observe battles as well, though it doesn't do anything. If they both do it at the same time, then...

So Violet is a blue mage.

Well, that certainly fixes her severe lack of abilities.

Except she's not really using magic.

It's the same concept.

To make it better, using elemental rings gives her an extra variation to most basic skills she learns this way.

So yeah, I'm pretty excited about this achievement.

Well, anyway, this gives me a better idea of what kind of skills she's gonna have.
