Splice The Hedgehog: RPG Fangame.

So I had a sudden burst of motivation to work on Station Square. But I want to finish GFC first so I got started on finishing things up there. First up, the Drugstore. I was almost at a loss for what to do with this place, especially since the only "modern" indoor tilesets I have are messy Earthbound stuff that weren't put together very well. Sooo...I decided to try a thing and came up with this:




I've almost perfectly replicated the drugstore from Onett. Almost. It was a very tedious job since I had to essentially build a new tileset around it. While I like how it came out, I think I should add a little more to it so it 'fits in' better with the rest of the world. In other words, it needs more shading. It's mainly the walls, really.

Also that NPC needs work. Or replacing.
After I'm done with this place, I'mma revamp the Armor Shop entirely. I'll probably be a clothing store or something more modern.

That guy's face is quite confusing.

so yeah that's one of the main problems I've been having with these shop keeper npc's. Their noses are too close to their mouths. I'll have to do a bit of...FACE-LIFTING.

Okay so I didn't face-lift him. I did however, still give him a make-over.
Yes, he has green facial hair.

Anyway, that's about enough outta this place. I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do with that armor shop!

Whenever I encounter something like this during testplays, I'm gonna convey my reactions through Splice and gif it before actually fixing it.

Is the rabbit thing a mistake or is it... AN EASTER EGG HAHAHA okay I'm so sorry. Phys jokes are horribad. But does Splice actually make that reaction if you do it??

I thought that was a dog!

It was a complete oversight that the ATM turned into a dog, so before fixing it I gave Splice a reaction to the weirdness so I could turn it into a gif. This won't happen in the main game. (however I moved the bug over to the debug room.)

In terms of completing every character, which was my current goal, ehh...It's difficult to say. A lot of the characters keep changing. For instance, Kyle above was technically already finished, but since I just gave him hair, now I have to implement that on all of his sprites, essentially making him unfinished yet again. (I also wanted to redo his Magic Sword skills to be far less bland.)

So, as long as I keep finding things to improve on the characters, I can't really give a good estimate on them. The same could go for the game as a whole since I also keep finding new things to add to it.

So basically release date: never? Haha, it's cool though

I'll probably never lay down an actual release date considering how often working under deadlines has actually worked out for me.
