Moonlight Visitor

Mike's heart skipped a beat. It was pitch black, and there was no telling what was down here. "Wh-why is it so dark..?" He whispered. He stepped out first, looking both ways. No good; he couldn't tell what was what.
Diana walked up beside him, now clinging to his shoulder. She didn't say anything, but she was terrified of the sudden lack of lighting. Mike stood still, wondering what they should do now. The only light was from the elevator, and that only illuminated just enough for them to see the floor up to a couple of steps away from the door.
'I'm worried as to why they left all the lights out; Who knows what's down here. Maybe, though, they don't actually come down here often. That may explain why they haven't bothered to light the place. In that case it'd make a good place to hide. Still we gotta be careful. If we can't see a thing we'll end up lost.' He went over in his mind. 'Is there anything we can use for light?' He patted his pockets, feeling the contents and naming each one in his mind as he went on. It wasn't until he was halfway through that he remembered the elemental rings. Namely, the Flame Elemental Ring. 'That's right! If I can utilize this, then maybe I can make a torch of some sort.' He stepped away from Diana, holding his hand up in front of him. 'Now let's see, how did I do that...?' He tried to focus his mind on the ring, hoping to bring out the fire power. He rubbed the ring a couple of times, and tried to remember how he was able to use it before against Mizuchi and Lucretia.

Eventually, he took the wring off his wrist and shook it around in frustration. Suddenly it began to flare up, and the whole upper half of it caught on fire. Panicking, he blew the flames out until it was a small, candle sized fire. "...Well that works." He said, looking at Diana with a sheepish grin. The flame was just enough to illuminate a small area around them. With that, they began to explore the deep darkness of the first floor.

"Wh-.." Mike took the bottle of water out of his vest pocket, and poured a little bit on the cut. He didn't have much to work with, so he used his hand to help clean it. They didn't have any bandages, but it wasn't a serious wound. "I think that's about all I can do for right now." He said with a frown. He looked behind them to see what exactly was the thing she hit. It looked like a crate of some sort. Looking back at her, he asked, "Does it hurt?"

"Uhhh...." Mike's eyes widened as he stared at it for a few moments. Suddenly he jumped up and staggered backwards. "Holy mackerel! Th-These are bombs!" He stammered. He planted himself against the wall, holding the flaming ring firmly in his right hand. Diana watched in fear; seeing him leap backward like that startled her. He glanced around the room, moving the ring with his gaze to see if there were any more boxes like that. "Don't tell me we're in some kind of weapons storage area..."

Diana clung to Mike's free arm tightly, trembling from the thought of being around something so deadly, while Mike carefully lead the way down the dimly lit passage. Sure enough there were more boxes and crates scattered about in random directions. Mike stayed as close to the wall as possible, holding the ring above his head at all times. Eventually they reached the end of the corridor, finding an opened door where it seemed the explosives actually belonged, as there were many more crates and boxes piled up a more orderly fashion. The door was being held open by another wooden crate.

"Well, this is it.." Mike announced quietly. Stepping over the crate, they entered the storage room. Mike lowered the ring and blew out the flames to a dim flicker. "We should be fine in here." He said. Walking to the end of the room, they found a place behind some boxes. Mike put the light out entirely, and set it down on the floor to cool as he sat against the wall. Diana sat next to him on his left side, a bit calmer now that they'd finally settled down.

Mike chuckled a bit as he searched his vest pockets. "Well, we never did get to eat back there, so let's have our meal here." He lit up the elemental ring again and set it in between his feet, which he used to hold it upright. He took out two bread rolls and some cheese. He used the water bottle to wash off his claw gloves so he could use them to cut the bread and cheese to make a couple of sandwiches. "Here you go." He handed one of them to her, and kept the other for himself.
