Moonlight Visitor

"Yes..to make sure she would be caught by you."

Mike and Diana looked surprised. Both had the same question in their minds, but for some reason couldn't ask him.

After maneuvering through the twisted branches and roots, they came to a clearing. Diana had no memory of the place, but Mike was taken back to the night when he first laid eyes on her..and the way he felt as he gazed upon her sleeping face.

'I thought she was an angel...' he thought, not noticing that he was staring at her with very gentle eyes.

"M-Mike? What is it?..." Diana asked, blushing.

Mike snapped back into reality, realizing how he was staring at her. "A-Ah! Um, Nothing! Nothing at all." He stammered, complete with a nervous laugh. His face was as red as an apple. He scratched the back of his head sheepishly, as a sweat drop rolled down the side of his face.

Percy had gone on further, but stopped to look back towards Mike and Diana, who stopped in the center of the clearing. He could hear Mike stammering from there, and wondered what was going on.

"What's going on you two?" Percy called out.

Both Mike and Diana smiled sheepishly, still red as they caught up with the confused brown rabbit.

"I-It was nothing." Both of them said in unison.

Percy smirked. "Whatever you say." Suddenly, Percy looked serious, and looked around in caution. He thought he sensed something.

"Wh-What is it brother?" Diana asked in panic.

Mike looked as serious as Percy did now. "Are they close by?" he asked lowly.

Percy said nothing for awhile until finally he relaxed. "No..just sensed something strange..I don't know what it was." he answered.

Diana felt her heart slow down, but the same panic stayed.

"Let's hurry.." Mike said with concern, noticing how shaken up Diana was.

Percy nodded, and began to run. Mike put his arm around Diana's waist as they ran so she could keep up.

As soon as they passed the big clearing, Percy lead the into the woods again, and soon stopped in front of vines. He moved them over like a curtain, showing that there was a cave behind them.

"Ooh." Mike's eyebrows rose. "So this is where you've been...?" He asked, as he began to step inside. He took a quick look around in the darkened cave, wondering what was inside.

"Here, take my hand." Percy told them, and began to lead them through the darkness of the cave.

Diana was a little scared being in the darkness, but trusted her brother. After about a minute of walking straight, Percy stopped and let go of their hands. He picked up something from the wall before reaching into his pocket. Diana and Mike saw a few flickers of light from his lighter as he tried to light a lantern, then it caught fire and lit up the entire end of the cave.

"There we go.." Percy said, and hung the lantern back up on the wall.

Diana and Mike looked around, examining what was inside. There was a bed against the wall with a shelf of books next to it, and on the other end was a small spring with a few big bags near it, probably filled with food and other utensils.

"Sorry..but you two will have to share the bed tonight. Its all I have."

Mike gave him a blank stare. He slowly turned to look at the only bed in the cave. When his mind finished processing the situation, his face was immediately flushed with a crimson red color. "U-uhh..I-uhh..er..um...t-t-that's okay. I'll s-sleep on the f-floor." He stammered, trying to hide his face. "D-Diana, y-you can have the bed." He offered, not even looking at either of them.

Diana was completely confused. She looked at him with naive eyes. "But Mike, I could never allow you to sleep on a cold, hard floor with no blankets or pillows!" she exclaimed, a tint of red in her cheeks. Sure, it was a little embarrassing to be sleeping next to him, but that was better than sleeping on the ground, right?

Mike bit his lip. 'I don't think she quite understands...' He thought. "T-thanks, but..it's just.."

"Mike, it's not a good idea to sleep on the floor in here." Percy warned. "There's a draft coming in here, and the floor gets cold." He tilted his head to the side. "You'll catch a cold. And you'll most likely wake up with cramps."

Mike thought about it for a moment. He realized that it'd be really bad if he woke up in that condition if something were to happen. And there was only one blanket. "...oh...okay.." He said. He slowly turned to face them. His head hung low; he was too embarrassed to look at them directly. His face was still red. "I-I guess w-we'll have to..."

Diana looked down a bit, still not understanding why he didn't want to share a bed with her. For some reason, it really hurt her feelings the way he was acting..

"Good, good." Percy said..unusually. He looked at Mike, smiling at first and then in a split second, changed it into a deadly frown. "Just don't try anything.."

Mike looked up at him, both shocked and flustered. "What!? N-No way! I wouldn't dare!" He protested, waving his hands around in front of him.
