Moonlight Visitor

Early the next morning, Smash made sure that everyone got up. He had called back home last night to tell his sister to arrange another meeting. As the group was getting ready to go, Smash stood by the door already prepared. 'I'm wondering...should we let Diana hear all of what we have to say...?' He asked himself. 'The guy said it was for her own good that she remained unknowing of all of this...but how long can we keep that up? She already knows something's going on. Not to mention we promised her information...' He glanced uneasily at Diana, who was just getting her shoes on. 'She does have a right to know...but...After that whole incident last night, I'm afraid to take anymore chances. And thinking of it now, how exactly are we going to keep her from hearing everything while acting "Natural"? I've already called a meeting and she's invited...Dang, I think I just cornered myself...' A sweat drop rolled down the side of his face. This wasn't going to be easy.

Mike was worried as well. More so worried about what was to come, rather than if Diana should know anything or not. 'Can I really stand up to those guys...? Three warriors and their leader...Can I even go up against One warrior, and make it out alive?' He wondered pessimistically, as he tied his shoes. 'And what's going on with this "power to contain the monster"? I don't understand, what power? Why do I have this "Power"? Why is this all happening to me? Why me...?'

"Mike, you ready?" Gizmo asked, standing next to him. Mike snapped out of his thoughts, startled by Gizmo's sudden presence.

"Oh..Yeah, I'm ready." He said, standing up. He fitted his hat on his head, and gave a fake confident smile. "Let's go."

"Everyone ready?" Smash asked, looking around at everyone.

"Yeah." Lina answered for everyone.

"Good. I'll drive you all there." Gizmo's father stepped into the room, walking straight for the door. "Come along, now."

"Right!" Gizmo followed after him, with Kitty flying right behind him.

"I'll be taking my motorcycle, if you don't mind." Smash said as he followed out the door.

Mike glanced at Diana, trying to look reassuring that everything would work out fine, before heading out. She simply smiled, and hurried out after him.



"Alright, this meeting is now in session!" Smash announced at the edge of the table. Everyone had come once again to hear the updates on the situation. After glancing around and making sure everyone was present, he began. "As you know, the girl that fell from the sky a couple of nights ago is staying with Gizmo for now. Her only memories were her name, and the fact that she really likes the full moon. Using our only leads, We decided to try and investigate the situation more, and ended up taking Diana's necklace to examine further while Mike took her outside to see the full moon. However, something went horribly wrong. Gizmo?" He glanced at the cat looking very ashamed, urging him to take it from here.

Gizmo looked up with a frown. "Last night, I took Diana's necklace and examined it. I placed it inside of the "Power Copy Machine" in order to get some technical readings on it. Like I'd suspected, the energy coming from it wasn't like anything we'd ever seen before. I wasn't able to get anymore data than that, so I tried to compare it with the Power Crystal. I intended to look closely at the two different forms of energy, and make out just what exactly was different, and possibly the effects of the energies, etc. Unfortunately, the necklace had a bad reaction to the crystal, and began to shake violently and change color. The Power Copy machine began to overheat, and the system was suffering from a grave error. We tried to take the necklace out, but it's energy shocked us, and prevented us from removing it from the machine. Though we did manage to get it out eventually, after shutting the machine down. And that's when we heard Mike's cries for help." He glanced over at Mike, wanting him to continue.

Mike nodded, and looked up at everyone else. "While we were outside, looking at the moon, Diana suddenly started screaming in pain. She fell down, and as I tried to catch her, something--I believe that energy that Gizmo mentioned came from the necklace, shocked me and threw me back." He said. "She couldn't take the pain, and ended up fainting..." He looked down, it wasn't something he wanted to recall. "I took her inside and called for help. Fortunately after the necklace stopped, the stuff shocking me from her did as well. We put her to rest, and soon Smash came over to check on us."

"One thing you forgot to mention." Smash said. "The moon. It was blood red." Most of the people in the room gasped, though some stayed silent. "I take it some of you saw it?"

"I saw it." Splice said, raising his hand. "Right as I was going to bed, I saw what happened to the moon. I didn't know what was happening..."


Smash nodded, and thought for a moment as the rest of the people in the room began to discuss what they thought was going on. 'There's still so much more to say...but with Diana here, Should I really give the whole story...?' He wondered.

"Technically, the moon itself doesn't shrink." Gizmo corrected. "It's just what we can see, really."

"Which would mean something was probably messing with it's view, right?" Splice suggested, seemingly from a wild guess. Gizmo merely shrugged.

Smash leaned back in his chair. 'Now that she knows this much...how long would we be able to keep the truth from her, anyway? It's only a matter of time before those crooks show up, I'm sure of it...'

Smash was hesitant at first, he knew that he should listen to the mysterious person, but they had already done enough damage. Diana's life was endangered now, she might as well know that much. "...Yesterday evening, that person came into my back yard again as I was training." He started. "He didn't tell me everything that we needed to know, but he told me enough." He flashed the group a serious look. "The main reason why I'm so hesitant to tell you all this, is because according to him, Diana is better off not knowing about her past."

Diana looked even more worried now. "Please...I have to know."

Smash nodded, and continued. "This whole thing was indeed a setup." Everyone, but the people who already knew, were taken by surprise. "But for a good reason. Who Diana is and where exactly she came from, I don't know. But she and Mike were brought together for a reason..." He paused, wondering if everyone will really understand this. "Mike was chosen to be her guardian, by an ancient prophecy of her people...or rather, he was chosen to be guardian because of an ancient prophecy of her people that spoke of him. Mike apparently holds the power to contain the monster from Lina's dream. Which means that dream she had was a sign. Whether the monster is within Diana, or her necklace, was left unclear. But all evidence proves it's existence. That monster is real."

The whole room was silent. All eyes were either staring blankly at Smash, or slowly turning to look at Mike. Mike sunk low in his chair, feeling like he couldn't handle the job.

"Remember Gizmo's theory, that someone was after her and that's why she was brought to us?" Smash asked the group. Not waiting for an answer, he continued. "Well, He was right about that, too. A little too right. It's not just someone, it's four someones." He said. "Three warriors and their leader."
Once again, everyone was taken back in shock.
"Though, this wouldn't actually be a problem, since Diana's necklace provides protection over her from their vision, so they wouldn't be able to find her anyway..." The group began to let out a sigh of relief. "...That is, if the necklace wasn't corrupted like it was last night. Which unfortunately is the case. They're probably on their way right now."

Mike felt a sharp pain in his chest, seeing her reaction to the news. "N-no, of course not..!"

"Don't jump to conclusions, now." Smash said, closing his eyes. "I didn't say you were the monster. All that's clear at the moment is that the monster is real, and Mike has the power to contain it. And it has some sort of relation to you; what exactly it is, we don't know." He shook his head, and then looked back at the rest of the group. "At the moment, The best thing that we can do is stay calm. I know that it's shocking, and rather disconcerting, but we'll never get anywhere if we don't keep it together."

"Right." Splice agreed. "We should prepare for what's coming. Those warrior guys, right?"

"Right. We don't know what these people are capable of, but we know that we can't let them have her. So be prepared for anything, including the worst."

Smash smiled a bit at her. "They're still our enemies." He said. "And you've made some new friends here, haven't you? I'm sure neither of them want any "unknown people" kidnapping you, now do they?"

"Absolutely not!" Mike exclaimed, nearly knocking his chair over as he was trying to sound strong for Diana. "Don't worry, we won't let anyone take you away!"

"That's right." Gizmo said. "There's no way we'd let that happen."

"Y'see?" Smash grinned. "And an enemy of our friend, is an enemy of ours."
