Smash froze in place, after turning around. Something was there, He could feel it. His eyes darted from left to right, he listened out for any other sounds. Soon, he heard more rustling, coming from a little farther to the left. "Who goes there!?" He demanded.

There was only silence. The man stayed hidden in the dark, and continued to study Smash.

'I can not stand this any longer. What I feared is a possibility..they are coming..and they need a warning or everything will be lost..' he thought, encouraging himself.

"I know you're there..Come out here and face me!"

Finally, the same hooded figure appeared slowly from the darkness.

"I knew it was you." Smash said, lowering his arms. "Alright, fess up. I want to know everything--Starting with what the heck you were doing in my back yard, again. You know that girl isn't here right now, right?" He folded his arms, still feeling somewhat anxious from before.

"I do know. She is with her protector." he answered.

'Protector?' Smash thought.

"Then why are you here?" the blue echidna asked, keeping his guard up.

The hooded man noticed how tense Smash was. "You don't have to worry, echidna. I am not the enemy."

Smash folded his arms. "Then...Who are you?" He asked. "Why are you doing all of this? I know you set that boy up to meet Diana. There's no way she fell down in that spot you lead us to by accident. And you say "Protector". Why did you choose him to be her guardian?"

"Who I am is not important at the moment.." he paused, wondering if he should give the echidna the information he asked for. The only reason he confronted Smash for a second time was to warn him.

"I am here to watch over these events.....The boy was chosen.." he paused again, but decided to continue. He knew this was all too confusing for Smash to understand. "Because he holds the power to contain the monster. For what reason he has that power, I do not know. Only that he was in the prophecy. But that is all you need to know of the matter."

Smash bit his lip. "...Somehow, I expected it to be something like this." He said. "No offense directed to him, but there couldn't be any other logical reason for you, or whoever it was who chose him to be her guardian. I don't know him very well myself, but I know that he has little to no experience with these types of things." He said. "Now, His sister had a dream about a monster. A pure, heavenly monster that killed him. Is that the monster he's supposed to be containing?"

"I'm sorry..I've really said too much." the figure said, regretting his explanation.

"I know of his weakness in fighting. Like I said, it wasn't my choice he became her guardian. But yes. That monster is very real. And if you don't want your world to be plunged into chaos, you will heed my warning.."

Smash felt a chill run up his spine. "Warning?" he asked.

"Yes. 3 warriors and their leader will be looking for the girl. You must not let them have her."

"When?" Smash asked, now sounding deadly serious. "Before you go, I at least need to know how much time we have left."

"They will not discover her location as long as she has the necklace. It is an artifact of our people, and it will keep her safe. The necklace is not to leave her neck, nor be fooled around with outsiders." he answered.

"Alright.." was all Smash could say. He appreciated the information this strange guy did give him, but was still left with so many unanswered questions.

"Just..why are you telling me this? Why can't you tell Diana yourself? You seem to know everything about her. And the way you've explained everything, I'm guessing you two come from the same..err..place."

"Because..she can not know anything about me or where she came from. She's better off without...her past memories."
