Moonlight Visitor

Mike's entire body froze. He had never seen her like that before. His heart sunk lower than ever before--in fact, it felt like it had been shot several times before actually falling. Seeing her cry like that tore him apart. His head hung low, with a stream of tears coming down each cheek. "D-Diana...I'm so sorry." He choked. "I c-couldn't protect you..I wasn't strong enough...If I were stronger, I could have fought them off long enough for us to escape..and we wouldn't be here right now." His chained fists tightened, "I...I was supposed to protect you no matter what! And I failed..miserably. I'm no guardian...all I'm good for is moral support, and I can't even give that anymore. I'm nothing but a failure now...I'm sorry I couldn't be any more than that.." That was it. He let himself fall limp, completely losing the will to even try to look at her anymore. He was too ashamed to feel worthy, and too devastated to think anything positive.

Mike looked up from the floor, and glanced at her finally. "Because I met you..?" He repeated. She nodded slowly, still staring blankly at him. That wasn't right to him. "No, how could you control something like that?" He suddenly gave her a stern look. "There's no way you could have controlled anything like that! You..You didn't even wake up until way after we found you...Plus, Aren't I the guy who was "Destined" to be your guardian? That's not your fault...you can't take the blame in the place of a whole prophecy..it's just not right..." His face softened up, "It's not fair to you." He let out a soft sigh.
"And even if it was your fault that we met..the only thing I'd still regret is not being able to protect you. Because I'm glad we met, even if we did end up like this.."

Now it was Mike's turn to turn on the waterworks. He could almost literally feel his spirits being lifted by her words, as he began to sob uncontrollably. "I..I would too..." His eyes stung from all the tears he shed, but he didn't care anymore. "I'm so glad..that I met you. And I want to stay with you..! The past two days I spent with you..even though we were busy trying to learn about who you really were, and were in danger from Lucretia..they were the best days of my whole life."
His heart was throbbing, but he began to feel his arms again. A second wind breezed over his body.
"Diana..I love you. I..I really do..I don't want us to be separated again..I don't want to lose you. All I want right now is just to be by your side again."

Mike looked sadly down at her outstretched hand. Remembering the situation, he was almost back to being depressed again from being so close, yet so far. "...There's gotta be a way out of here." He said. "Diana, you've got free movement in there. Is there anything you can do?" He asked, hopefully.

Mike was surprised, but he understood her anger completely. "Hey, Why don't you try using your water abilities on it, or somewhere around here?" He suggested. "Not sure what good it'll do but it's worth a shot."
