Moonlight Visitor

The group rushed out into the back yard. Smash immediately scanned the area, trying to see what was going on. Kitty flew up into the air, and searched around above the fence. He looked farther ahead as he ascended.

"See anything, Kitty?" Gizmo called out. Kitty started to shake his head, but then yelped and dove back down to the ground. A sharp icicle whizzed right over his head.

"Did you see that!?" Splice exclaimed.

"They're here..." James said. They looked to see where the icicle came from, and saw Daigon and Jen, both floating in the air near the edge of the yard. The two slowly descended towards the ground.

"Always taking the battle to people's homes, aren't you?" Smash called out, stepping forward.

Daigon smirked as he touched the ground. "Looks like they've got some more friends." He said to Jen. "But that won't be enough this time around."

"So, I take it you're Daigon and Jen, huh?" Smash asked, folding his arms.

"And who are you to ask for our names, big guy?" Jen rose his eyebrow at him, somewhat amused. "Not that it matters."

"My name is Smash The Echidna. The owner of this property and the guardian of all that stand within it." He shot them both a cold glare. "That is, with the exception of you trespassers. Now, unless you plan on dying right here and now, I suggest you leave."

"Yeah, and if I recall it only took a kid to knock you the heck out!" Splice exclaimed angrily, pointing at them.

"What do you mean we "Failed"?" Smash demanded, now beginning to get worried.
Gizmo's eyes widened, realizing that Lina might have been right...

Smash's arms dropped, his eyes widened with shock. "No..."

Jen was startled, and Daigon instinctively tried to attack him to get him off. Percy kicked him in the stomach, sending him to the ground. "Where are they!?" He shouted again.

"Heh, Diana's safe with us. But that kid's probably dead by now." Jen said, smirking.
The group all stared in shock. There was a moment of silence between them. Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of something landing in the grass. Gizmo fell to his knees; his pupils had shrunk, and he stared forward in complete and utter shock. "..It's not true..." He whispered to himself.

Out of a mixture of rage and sorrow, Percy threw Jen into the air and screamed. His voice echoed throughout the entire section of the city. Before Daigon could react, Percy sprung up into the air after Jen, and plowed his fist into his stomach. Jen was sent flying even higher as Percy landed back on the ground.

Gizmo felt his heart sink lower than ever before. He couldn't believe it. Was he really gone? The very first friend he had ever made, the one he'd known since grade school, was murdered just a few minutes ago. 'Why...He was my best friend...' He felt his eyes beginning to water up. 'I promised Lina that he'd be safe...I told her everything would be alright! How could they do this to him..!?' Kitty flew down by his shoulder, and hugged the side of his head to try and comfort him. 'I...' He gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with tears. 'I won't forgive them for this...' He glared at Daigon, feeling overcome with rage.

Smash clenched his fists. "You..." He felt his energy rising. His body began to glow slightly, as his anger was starting to get the best of him.
Percy looked on over at Daigon, just before getting slugged across the face. Daigon successfully knocked him down, and kicked him while he was on the ground. "You're pathetic, too. You left her in there yourself, and now you're throwing a tantrum about it." Daigon taunted. Percy started to get up, only to get kicked back down again.

Smash and Splice began to run over to stop him, but everyone suddenly froze when they heard another loud scream. Smash, Splice, Daigon, Everyone turned to look and see what had happened. Gizmo came charging head first towards Daigon, with his Hand Cannon equipped and charging up energy. A stream of tears were flying off of his face as he closed in on him.
"The heck?" Daigon immediately got on the defensive. He remembered getting shot by that cannon, but Gizmo was running with it, holding it like a melee weapon. "What're ya trying to pu-" Before he could even finish, Gizmo swung the cannon towards his face. Daigon blocked it, but the force from the large gun completely knocked him over. Gizmo kept swinging ruthlessly, smashing and bashing him as the cannon charged even more power.

Smash looked at the others and nodded. The whole group then charged forward, ready to assist them.

Gizmo gritted his teeth, sitting up in the grass. "What do you care...!?" He stood up, literally quivering with anger.

Smash stood in between Daigon and Gizmo, as Jen finally landed on the ground. "You say that we've failed our mission, you have the girl. We have nothing of value to you anymore. So why are you here?" He demanded. "Did you come to gloat? Did you come to rub it in our faces? What the HECK do you want!?"

"Wait, you mean Mike's alive!?" Gizmo exclaimed.

"Maybe if you said that first, you wouldn't have gotten your faces bashed in." Smash snarked. "Alright, cut the crap. What's the catch? What does she want from us?"
