WT: Topaz The Hedgehog VS Smash The Echidna (Winner: Smash The Echidna)

Smash had a bad feeling about deflecting the lights with his bare hands. Mainly because of bad memories of his match with Nora in the Cosmic Championship. He ran to the side, trying to avoid touching the lights.

The attack left a miniature crater where Smash once stood, and the lights returned to Topaz quickly. He repeated the attack again, firing them in a wave pattern this time to make it harder to avoid.

This time, Smash leaped in the air above them to avoid the attacks. When they returned, he jumped again to avoid them.

While Smash was in the air, Topaz charged at him with speeds greater than anything he had shown thus far. He met Smash with a punch from the newly gloved fist, with the force of his weapon added to it.

All Smash saw was a flash, and the next thing he knew he was feeling a sharp pain in his chest. Topaz hit him dead on, knocking him farther into the air. Smash soon landed on his feet in a kneeling position, coughing up blood. Dang, I didn't even SEE that... He thought.

Topaz hovered down slowly, remaining about 10 feet in the air.
Looks like you've met your match, Smash. You've already exhausted a lot of energy, but I'm just getting started.
He crossed his arms and waited, wanting to see how Smash would react to his Semi-Super form.

"Well...Maybe I have." He said, standing up straight, still clutching his chest. "Looks like it's time for a backup plan." He took off his gloves, and let them drop to the floor. He replaced them with emerald green gloves with a pair of curved, blood red spikes on the back of each one. The gloves briefly glowed as he fitted them on each hand. "This isn't nearly over yet, though. Not by a long shot."

Topaz was silent for a moment. He knew better now, and was thinking over what to do next.
I could let him get in a hit or two, but I need to be careful. Pushing it too far would be risky.

Smash was also thinking about his next move. I need to go about this carefully. Very carefully. He stared him down, seemingly analyzing him. He's way faster now. I probably won't even be able to catch him if I go in head on. And he'll use that to his advantage if I even leave a tiny space unguarded. He also seems to have gotten some new powers. Still have a bad feeling about those lights. There's gotta be some way to catch him off guard...hmm...Better leave that one as a last resort. Save your energy...and maybe...He put his train of thought to a halt. First let's just test his reactions. He charged forward, running at him like he was going to mow him over.

Topaz chuckled as Smash ran forward. He let one of the lights fly downward to meet Smash, ready to release its blast of energy right in front of him.
