Moonlight Visitor

Mike's eyes snapped wide open, and darted from left to right. Everything was dark, save for the dim glow from his elemental ring, which gave him just enough light to see where he was. Diana was still on his lap, sleeping soundly. He let go of the breath he held and relaxed, seeing that they were still safe. He didn't want to fall asleep completely, in case something had happened. Everything was just how he left it. He closed his eyes, but tried not to doze off.
'Man, we sure have been through a lot.' He thought to himself. 'Can't even sleep peacefully anymore. But of course not; we're on an enemy's ship. When we land, we won't be anywhere near home. Gotta think about our course of action...'
He opened his eyes and looked up toward the darkened ceiling. 'You know, I never would have thought I'd end up on an adventure like this. Sure, I'd have loved to venture onward to places unseen, just like we used to do back in the day when we would explore outside the town and go into the woods...but this? I dunno. Being kidnapped isn't fun. Escaping might be, but I think I'd be more scared out of my wits than anything.
We'll be on Diana's home world. Where do we go for safety, if she doesn't remember anything about it? That and Lucretia rules over with an iron fist, more than likely. There probably won't be very many places to hide, but we gotta go somewhere...I wonder if Gizmo and the others know that we're here. I sure hope so...we could really use their help right now.'

Suddenly he heard a voice, which made him freeze completely. He eased up almost immediately when he realized it was coming from Diana. He looked down, raising his eyebrows in confusion. She was still asleep, but she just said something he couldn't make out.

Mike let out a startled grunt as he started shielding his eyes from the light. "Wh-what..?" He sputtered. With his free hand, he gently shook Diana in an attempt to wake her. "Diana..! Diana, wake up..." He whispered, hoping that she'd awaken quickly. But it was then when he noticed she'd both stopped talking and crying. She was completely unconscious now, laying limp in his lap.

"Lucretia..how could you say that to me?!" Diana cried as it all began to sink in. Her hot tears made her vision blurry as she watched her sister storm off. "Please don't do this sister..Please!!" she begged, falling to her knees as her legs failed her. Percy and Derrik ran to her aid, trying to comfort her. But she couldn't hear them.The only thing she could hear over and over again were her sister's words of hate towards her..

Suddenly, everything started to spin faster and faster, making her feel dizzy and faint. Not knowing what to do, she put her hands up to shield her face as she heard Percy's voice of comfort begin to fade and sound scratchy. "What's going on??" she cried out, confused. She started to hear voices in random from everyone she knew. From Lucretia, to Smash, to Percy and Mike..Until finally, a voice she didn't recognize.

"Diana?"

The purple rabbit was too scared and confused to remove her arms that shielded her eyes.

"You have nothing to fear from me, Princess Diana."

The voice she heard was strange. It was neither male or female, yet it sounded stronger than the wind and louder than thunder. She removed her hands, and looked around to try and find the owner of the voice, but could see no one. The only thing she could see was white. It was as if she was the only thing that existed in this strange place.

"Wh-where are you? Who are you?...And where a-am I?" she stammered as she looked around fearfully.

"I am many things..But in your translation of me, I am the 'good' side of the Moon Crystal. And I am hanging around your neck. You, however, are in your subconscious. This is the only place I can talk to you."

Diana took a deep breath as she processed everything the voice told her. "I see.." she said finally, and began to relax a little. "What is it you want to talk about?" At this point, she wasn't sure if she was dreaming or if she was going completely mad.

"This is not a dream, Diana. What I just showed you were your true memories from the past."

Diana gasped. "You know what I'm thinking?.." she asked quietly.

"Of course. You and I bonded so long ago, I am now a part of you." It explained.

"Have you been showing me all of my memories since I've woken up?" She asked, fully believing the voice now.

"Yes. I need you to get your memories back so you can fight Diana..so you can take your rightful place as ruler of Animas. I was the one that chose you. Everyday that Lucretia rules, I get weaker and weaker as the darkness overpowers me..I nearly lost hope in your return until that night your protector found you."

"Fight? Wh-What do yo-"

"You need to kill Lucretia, Diana." The voice interrupted darkly.

Diana felt her heart speed up rapidly in her chest. "K-kill her?.."

"I hoped that maybe giving you that memory back would help you realize what you had to do. That thing is not your sister anymore. She's been long gone since that fateful day. Who she is now is my evil that I tried to hold back..but couldn't at that moment your sister tried to bond with me."

Diana tried her best not to hyperventilate. Everything was just happening too fast for her to be able to take it in all at once. She remembered the memory and replayed it over and over again like it was still happening..How much she loved and cherished her sister..and how much it killed her to hear those words of poison slither out of sister's mouth..It was all unbearable. And even after everything, she knew for sure she could never harm a hair on Lucretia's head.

"If you fail to kill her, then she will kill you. You both can not continue to stay alive at once. One of you will die in the end, whether you want it to happen or not."

"But maybe..maybe I could bring her back..my real sister! I know she's in there still..she has to be!" Diana cried hysterically. She didn't like any of this at all.

"No." the voice simply said. "You need to choose Diana..Before she unleashes my ultimate weapon."

"The monster.." Diana whispered with fear, her pupils small from all of the shock.

"If that evil gets a hold of my special defensive power that I entrusted to you..all hope is lost. I will cease to exist, Diana. The world of Animas will no longer have its light. It will be nothing but darkness forever.."

Diana stayed silent for what felt like an eternity. There was no way out of it. It was either her, or the evil that controlled her sister.

"Please do the right thing, Princess. If not for you, then for your people." The voice paused for a moment before continuing. "There's a reason why I chose you Diana..You have a light of your own..that's almost as bright as mine. It will be hard..but think of it as this: You will be saving your sister from the hell my darkness has put her through."

Before Diana could respond, the white all around her began to get darker and darker. She started to hear a familiar voice through all of the fuzziness..

"...iana...Diana...Diana!" The voice became clearer, and she was soon able to make it out to be Mike's. He was whispering loudly and almost in a panic, firmly shaking her to try and wake her up.

Mike felt his heartbeat slowing down as he let out a relieved sigh. "What exactly happened?" He asked as she sat up slowly. "You were talking in your sleep, and then your necklace started glowing, and you wouldn't wake up..."
