WT: Topaz The Hedgehog VS Smash The Echidna (Winner: Smash The Echidna)

"Laaaaadieees Aaand Gentlemen! The World Tournament will Now BEGIN! The first round starts Now!" The announcer called out. The crowd cheered excitedly, as they have waited all day for this.

"Will our fighters please report to the ring?" He called out. As they entered, he continued. "For our first match we have Topaz The Hedgehog! A well trained bounty hunter and an honorary G.U.N Soldier! This is his first match ever in the Blitz Pit. He's got guts to make his debut in the World Tournament! In our other corner we have Smash The Echidna! Every year he's entered the World Tournament since he joined us. Only one time he's won, due to a personal emergency of the opponent. But every year he's come back with something new up his sleeves! Can the son of our famous fighter, David The Echidna, win this time?" The crowd's cheering got even louder once the fighters were in their sights.

Topaz was clearly ready to go, jumping back and forth from foot to foot.
I hate to knock you out of this thing so early Smash, you being a vet and all.
Finally settling down, he pulled a power ring with an odd grey stripe on it from his inside-vest pocket and began to flip it.
Don't worry... I won't make you look too bad.

Smash cracked his neck and knuckles. "Don't you worry about me. I'll accept any kind of defeat, but don't let my reputation keep you from going all out." He said. "Fight with all you've got."

The announcer looked at the two. "Well, it seems that the fighters have already been acquainted." He said with interest. "Now, let me go over the rules once more. There will be no guns with the risk of immediately killing your opponent. If you should kill your opponent, you will be disqualified. Anyone who lands outside the ring will be disqualified. That should be enough for now. Now, Get ready...BEGIN!"


Smash motioned for Topaz to make the first move. He looked rather excited.

After one more exagerated flip of the power ring, Topaz quickly grasped it and it began to glow brightly. It disappeared, and in it's place was a metal ball, about the size of a five-pin bowling ball, with a strange blue handle that Topaz held tightly.
G.U.N. storage rings... gotta love 'em.
Topaz thrust his arm forward and the ball shot out, dragging behind a chain of miniature power rings attached to the handle. Small, dulled spikes extended from the ball as it flew towards its target: Smash the Echidna.

Smash's eyebrows rose. He looked at the weapon heading towards him, and quickly sidestepped it. He turned his head to look at it fly by him, and had a short flash back from several months ago.

Smash was in the clearing of a forest, an area where it appeared that a fight had broken out. He began to examine the area closely. He soon noticed a few scratch marks on a tree, next to another which had a huge tear in the middle of it. "Some kind of heavy weapon must have done this." He said to himself. "

That weapon... He thought. That's what tore up that tree like that. THAT's the heavy weapon. He soon came to realize. Well, That case was closed a long time ago, no need to bring that up again.

Topaz smirked at the sight of Smash dodging the shot. With a simple flick of a switch on the handle, the ball stopped in mid-air and quickly retracted. Topaz swung his weapon to the side like a whip as the ball returned to him, hoping to have it hit Smash in the back.

Smash still had his eyes on the ball. He stepped forward a bit, waiting for the right moment. He then jumped into the air, performing a side flip as he grabbed the chain and landed on the other side of it. The ball kept swinging, and headed right for him. He swung the chain, now twirling the ball over his head. He looked over at Topaz, and threw the ball back towards him.

Topaz held the switch tight, and the chain coiled back to where it started.
Pretty good, Smash. Why don't we try something a little more... physical?
Incredibly quickly, Topaz ran up to Smash and threw a right hook, now using the ball as a blunt weapon.

Smash expected him to retract the ball like he did. The way he shot it out implied that it could go in reverse just as easily. But as he came at him quickly, he wasn't quite expecting him to use the ball as a blunt weapon. He tried to guard it, but was completely knocked over by the force and mass of the weapon. He rolled to the side and quickly regained his footing. He sprung forward and attempted to slam the weapon downward with both of his hands, possibly hitting Topaz' legs or his foot, and headbutt his face directly afterwards.

Expecting Smash to strike directly, Topaz prematurely sidestepped. Smash still hit the ball, but luckily it missed his legs completely. Using the downward momentum to his advantage, Topaz swung his arm around and tried to deal a blow atop Smash's head.
