WT: Topaz The Hedgehog VS Smash The Echidna (Winner: Smash The Echidna)

((Not quite, but you can't stay up there for long or you might get in trouble. A ring out only qualifies if you touch the ground outside of the ring.))

Smash watched as he dashed away. "Hmph. Keeping your distance, eh?" He said quietly. He kept walking towards him, until he suddenly burst out into a sprint.

Topaz leapt high into the air to keep as much distance as he could. However, as if defying the laws of physic, what went up did not come down. Topaz had shot the spikeball of his weapon straight up at the peak of his jump, lodging it into the ceiling. Retracting the chain pulled him upward, and he was now resting firmly against the ceiling of the arena.
Too slow!

Smash stopped in his tracks and looked up at Topaz. Placing his hands on his hips, he frowned at the hedgehog hanging from the ceiling. What're you trying to pull? He thought, somewhat annoyed.

Very carefully, Topaz dislodged his weapon and held on tightly.
Wait for it... Wait for it.
In one swift action he thrust himself downward, spinning like a torpedo with the extended spikeball twirling around him.
This should be interesting. I've never tried this in my normal form before.

Smash gasped. The spike ball seemed to extend as he flew downward. By the time he reached the ground, it would cover the whole ring. And with the way it was spinning, it would be very difficult to dodge. "Crap...!" Looks like there's only one thing to do in this case. He thought. If I can't avoid it, I'll stop it! He quickly brought up his energy to return to his high tension state. "URRGGHIII!!!" With a blast of energy, he launched himself into the air. "Let this be the final strike! SKULL CRACKER!!" With his fist covered in a lime green aura, he nearly transformed into the second stage of his high tension as he unleashed one of his most powerful punches towards Topaz; the center of the attack.

((Well... I've delayed the inevitable for long enough.))
An explosion of energy was all that could be seen. The flash generated from the two attacks colliding was blinding. It did eventually clear, and the sight down at the ring was obvious to most. Smash was virtually unscathed (aside from previously taken damages) and Topaz lay outside the ring, unconcious; a double knock-out, in a sense. After such a valiant effort, Topaz the Hedgehog was defeated. His girlfriend Jade came in from the lobby, pushing passed security in a mad dash to his side. She had seen him like this only once before, and it was not a desirable sight.

((Sorry for knocking you out so early. I honestly didn't want to have such an epic match in the beginning, but hey. SOMEONE'S gotta win. It'd have been interesting to see how he'd do further in the tournament. It was a great match overall, though.))

Smash had landed on the ground, back to normal. He fell to his knees, gasping for breath as he clutched his chest in pain. "That...was risky..." He said to himself between breaths.

"We have a winner! Smash The Echidna!!" The announcer exclaimed excitedly. There was a roaring applause from all around the stadium. The announcer walked towards Smash and helped him up. "Congratulations on your first victory of the tournament, Smash. I had a feeling you could do it!"

"Y-yeah, thanks." Smash said, still wincing in pain. "He put up a good fight. If the stakes weren't so high, I'd wanna fight him again sometime."

"Thank you both for an excellent match. This is what the Blitz Pit needs around here! I'm hoping to see more great battles from the rest of you!" The announcer turned to the crowd. "Stay tuned, folks! The next match will soon be underway!"


Meanwhile, security came to help Topaz. Two of them came with a stretcher and lifted him onto it, while the third one just reassured Jade that he would be alright. Another security guard escorted Smash out, seeing how he was in a lot of pain.

((Well now that match is over, I think I can safely say... that was a dick move putting Topaz up against Smash in the first round. I'm not upset or anything, but I honestly would've rather fought one of the NPCs so I could at least make it to round two.))
