The Crystal Chronicles

Kyla forced a smile. "I know why I've had to think about for awhile now to ask you..and to decide if I sign the contract or not" she said as their food arrived.

Gizmo looked as their food arrived. "That was quick." He muttered. "Great service.." He looked back at Kyla. "Well, I think it'd be a good experience for you, and it'd probably be good for me to get out more." 'For reasons other than trying to deal with some crazy situation.' He finished in his thoughts. "I just don't wanna get up and leave without saying anything, is all. I wanna make sure I don't leave anything I need to do hanging, either."

Kyla shook her head alarmed. "Oh no! I didn't mean it be now. It be in a few weeks if I signed. You'd have time to think of it. I wouldn't want to rush you." She said picking up her fork and getting a shrimp on the end of it before popping it into her mouth. Some of the fish had sauces of some kind on it and in it along with other several things, all sea food.

"Oh. Heheh, of course." He laughed sheepishly, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. He picked up his fork and took a bite himself. His eyes lit up, as he silently chewed on the shrimp. Though he was quiet, his face said it all; It was delicious.

Kyla grinned from the look on his face as she giggled softly before taking a few more bites of her food. Her thoughts now wondering to the strange cat with the eye patch who claimed she was an alien. "Well I knew that it was possible but I didn't exactly believe it before now..." she thought to herself.

Gizmo was thinking about her new career, and how he could help with it. 'This could probably be a good experience for me, I could work with Extreme Gears with her..Maybe I could be her "Team Mechanic" or something...' He then remembered the strange cat, and that she might run into him again out there. 'If he comes after her again..then I'll have to go with her. I can't let him do that...The more I think of that guy, the more my blood begins to boil..' He took another bite of his food, and sipped his soda. 'But that all makes me wonder..Just what exactly IS Kyla? She's from a whole other world, and has this strange crystallic substance in her blood. This is all so very puzzling, but the only thing I can do now is just protect her. I can't let her get hurt by any sort of Chaos Energy..and if that means I have to take out that cat, then so be it..'

"I bet there are things about me that I don't even know about or ever will know about...I wonder what my home planet is like..will I ever get to see it? Is this cat connected to how my parents died?" She wondered taking a sip of her smoothie, glancing at Gizmo and studying him a little bit now while he wasn't looking at her directly.

'Still, it's gotta be hard on her. Suddenly learning that you're an alien of some sort..I tried not to bring it up in case she'd feel uncomfortable..' He happened to look up at Kyla again, and noticed that she was staring at him. "O-oh, did I do something funny?" He asked nervously, somewhat caught off guard.

Kyla looked away a blush showing on her cheeks. "Oh no you did nothing funny.." she said not looking back and focusing on her food now. Embarrassed she got caught staring at him, her thoughts gone now.

Seeing her blush made his face redden, too. "Oh, hehe. Well, uh..The food is great, just like you said." He said, hoping to bring up a better subject. "I'll have to save a bit for Kitty."
