The Crystal Chronicles

Sunshine began to look bored yet comfortable in Kyla's lap. "I was attacked on my way to earth to find Kyla before it was too late and then try to keep her out of harm's way" she said before closing her eyes. Kyla looked at Gizmo a question burning on the tip of her tongue.

"Attacked..?" Gizmo looked shocked. "Who attacked you? It couldn't have been...?"

"Are you saying that there is someone after Kyla?" Katler asked at the same time.

Sunshine nodded her head at them "Yes, an person who hunts our kind and sells our body after forcing us to take a small crystal form..Kyla's crystal..her mother's crystal at least was a very rare kind and most people on the black market would sell their souls just to get their hands on it" she said. Kyla remembered the cat who had threaten her from before now wondering if it was the same person that attacked Sunshine.

Gizmo looked as if someone had just punched him in the stomach. "A person who hunts your kind..." He whispered.

Kitty's eyes widened in horror. "Chaoka, Mew ch-Mereoow chao Kyla chao...?" He asked, worriedly. In translation, "Wait, does that mean that Kyla's mother was...?"

Kyla started to look sick as she seem to turn pale from listening to Sunshine. "Kyla's mother came to earth when Kyla was just a baby to hope to give her a new life..over the one she would have had. The fact Kyla has a crystal from her mother suggest that danger came and it left Kyla alone. More than likely her parents were killed for their crystals." Sunshine continued looking sad now.

Gizmo held the side of his face with his hand, leaning back as if he were in a daze. Why? Why couldn't he get away from this? These "Hunters" that would always show up, trying to take the lives of those he cared about. Even though neither of them were really in it together, they never failed to torment him in any way. Was it some kind of cruel fate? Until now, he had only thought that Chao Hunters were the only ones with that kind of cruelty. But he couldn't be more wrong.
That racer cat had to have been one of those hunters. These people were after Kyla now...the thought of having another encounter with a hunter was beginning to give him a headache. He hated them. There was nothing he hated more than Chao hunters, but these people fell right into that category as well.

Yet, at the same time, he was afraid. What if he couldn't stop them? What if he lost Kyla to those people? He couldn't bear the thought, but it kept coming back to mind.

Kyla set Sunshine down gently as she walked over to him, gently touching his arm. "Hey Gizmo..it will be alright." she said as she tried to get a good look at his face, even when it's her own life in danger she seems to show more concern for him than herself.

Sunshine blinked for a moment. "Are they dating?" she asked looking at Kitty

Kitty scratched his head with a nod. "Mm."

Gizmo looked down gloomily. "..I know it's me who should be saying that, but..I just..." His voice trailed off for a second. "I can't stand it. These people...Why do these people always appear no matter what I do?" He asked, sounding distressed.

Sunshine got a blank gaze before mumbling "Well...I hope he doesn't get hurt too.." she said as she continued to watch the two.

Kyla couldn't take it seeing him like that, it almost broke her heart. "Gizmo..it can't be helped...I wish I had known sooner..and thanks to you I'm alive standing here in front of you right now.." she said as she used her tail to lift his face gently.

Kitty glanced at her, wondering what she had said. He then looked back at Gizmo, and tried to offer some comforting words as well. In translation, he said "Even if these Chao hunters and others like them kept showing up, We all still managed to make it out okay. You've done a lot to protect us all from them. And I'm sure you can still keep them away."

Gizmo looked back and forth between Kyla and Kitty, before managing to smile a little. "Yeah...You're right." He stood up slowly, and suddenly gave her a hug. "Thank you...I feel a little more confident now."
