Well they killed off Maria and that one chick Shadow liked. Her name was Molly. She didn't die in the 4kids version, they just made it look like she flew away to fight off the mederex, but after her and Shadow made eye contact, her ship was blown up.(In the original version) And the seed, I have a theory about that too I just wish they didn't end it there. They could've done so much more for that show. Yeah, I mean I like Shadow and all, but they didn't really come up with a good excuse for him to come back. They should've just said he was a clone in the 3rd season.

I forgot all about that Molly person.

But yeah, they did kill off Maria, but she was already dead by the time the story started. It's not as impacting that way.

Geez, it seems like Shadow just can't seem to meet any girls besides Rouge and Amy without them dying.

But if he's having trouble finding a girl, maybe actually go for one of the same species..? At least one that's not human.

Not that Maria was supposed to be a love interest or anything.

Well to be fair, Shadow wasn't "in love" with Maria in the first place, as Kapus has mentioined. The two were extremely close, but it was probably because she was the only one on the ARK who didn't treat him like an experiment. Bro/Sis kind of thing. Who knows what would have happened with Molly, it could have been the same or completely different, but the creators decided: Nope, Shadow must remain angstish.

I don't believe Shadow has really had romantic feelings for ANYONE, even Rouge. Which is realistic, as you don't just go from having I'm-teh-loner syndrome to falling in love, and naturally he wouldn't do anything with those feelings except supress them because romance would be such a new concept.
