Whiteburst Tempus Pine

It is the year 2056 for Mobius time and Whiteburst was sitting on the edge of Angel Island enjoying the view. Memories of the world famous Sonic the Hedgehog flashed past his gaze as the day went by. His bright, crisp blue eyes flickered with the sun's intensity. With a deep breathe he collapsed backwards into the bright green grass of Angel Island. The softness weakened his energy making him loathe to stay awake.
He closed his eyes and listened to the air around him. Peace swarmed through his body as he tried to sleep.

(So, this story pretty much takes place in the future?)

Sunlight Sole Shootingstar

A beautiful day indeed. Sunlight thought, as she looked over the island. This would be a great opportunity to play outside with Solaris. She's been wanting to explore outside, and I just have been so busy. What's the point of visiting Angel Island if you can't have fun? "Solaris! Come here girl!" She called. An excited Star Wolf pup came bounding down the stairs. "Do you want to go play outside today?" Solaris gave a sharp whimper and spun in place. "Alright, I'll pack us a lunch and we'll head out in the next 20 minutes!"

Sunlight made a sandwich for herself, and brought kibble and cheese for Solaris. She also filled two water bottles for the trip. She packed them all in a backpack.

"Alright girl, it's time to go!" Solaris bounded for the front door. Sunlight smiled at her pet's enthusiasm and opened the door.

They walked around for a little while, and whenever Solaris walked too far away, Sunlight would call her back. She came without question, because there were too many new smells to worry about boundaries.

It was about 12 o'clock when they stopped to eat lunch. Sunlight ate her sandwich and Solaris ate her kibble and cheese. They were down to about a bottle of water now, but that was enough to do some more exploring.

Solaris got up from her eating spot and whimpered at Sunlight. "Do you want to play hide-and-seek girl?" Sunlight asked the playful pup. Solaris yelped a yes and bounded off to hide. Sunlight smiled again at the playful Star Wolf. She counted 60 seconds, and started off to find Solaris.

As she was walking along the side of the island, she stumbled and fell with a yelp! She landed beside a bright colored hedgehog. "Oh, sorry, excuse me!"

Whiteburst's eyes widened as his lungs passed air to his vocal-cords allowing him to yell in pain, "ACK!"
"What did you do that for," he asked while sitting up clenching his side from the intense pain.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't see you there..." Her cheeks flushed from embarrassment of her fall and her ears shot back. She stood up and brushed herself off, trying to regain her composure and buy a little time for him to calm down.

"M-my name's Sunlight." She shyly introduced herself, looking him in the eyes. Her ears remained gently back.

Whiteburst could see this girl's embarrassment so he pushed back his anger just enough to talk with his normal, calm voice.
"Ah, it's okay. Don't take it so hard." Whiteburst got to his feet. "It's not everyday that someone trips on someone else... is it?" He paused for a minute then continued. "So, your name is Sunlight, huh? My name is Whiteburst. Pleased to meet you and your foot," he said smiling while holding out his hand.

Sunlight took his hand and shook it firmly. "And it's nice to step on you Whiteburst.", she smiled and joked back, feeling somewhat better now. Her ears returned to their normal position.

Solaris became tired of waiting for Sunlight to find her, so she came running up the path. She spotted Sunlight immediately, because her hair shone in the daylight, and scampered up beside her. She gave a questioning glance at Whiteburst. Sunlight reached down to pet her head, and gave her a reassuring smile.

Whiteburst laughed at Sunlight's comment and stared at the pup with curiosity arousing inside him. He had to find out what breed or species it was.
"Er... excuse me, Sunlight, but I was wondering: what type of species of dog is that?" He bent down and slowly held out his hand to the pup for her to check and see if he was fit to be around her master.

Solaris shyly sniffed his hand, and tasted it. She tilted her head slightly, then rubbed her head in his palm.

"Solaris is a Star Wolf, the rarest wolf in the universe," Sunlight smiled. "I think she likes you."

Suddenly, Solaris stopped. Her ears became alert and she scanned the surroundings. Something felt wrong.

Sunlight froze. "What is it girl?" she asked. Solaris barked at an empty space beside Whiteburst.
